What is a Children’s Community Choir?
A Children’s Community Choir is a vibrant ministry where children lift their voices in praise, learn to worship through music, and discover the joy of serving God together. Through fun rehearsals, meaningful songs, and shared prayer, children grow not only in musical ability but also in faith, confidence, and friendships. The choir helps kids understand that their voices matter and that worship can be joyful, expressive, and powerful when offered to God.
Who is welcome to join?
Kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade are warmly invited to be part of the Shepherd’s Flock Children’s Choir. Your child does not need to be a member of Solid Rock to join – families who attend a different church, do not currently attend church, homeschool, or are simply looking for a positive, faith-filled extracurricular are all welcome.
The Shepherd’s Flock is a safe, encouraging space where children can grow spiritually, build confidence, and worship God through music alongside other kids. Our heart is to pour into children during these important years by nurturing their faith, character, and God-given gifts.
If there is strong interest from middle school students, we will prayerfully consider expanding the choir to include additional age groups.
Who leads the Shepherd’s Flock Children’s Community Choir?
Ms. Wellington does! She has a genuine love for teaching children, whether it’s in the classroom or at church. She’s passionate about helping kids feel comfortable, confident, and excited to use their voices. Having been a member of Shepherd’s Flock herself as a child, Ms. Wellington has seen firsthand how this choir can shape young hearts and voices.
She’s inspired by the many children who have come through Solid Rock over the years and grown into wonderful singers today. Ms. Wellington is excited to create a fun, welcoming space where kids can learn, grow, and make meaningful memories while making beautiful music together.
